The wonders of plastisol

During our years in operation, we have steadily built up a reputation around the supply of roofing sheets, insulation materials, metal and steel cladding, and a myriad of other products too. In particular, our tile form sheeting has received particular praise from clients who have purchased it from us. Textured, plastisol coated, and insulated, the products are useful for various settings.

Plastisol is a suspension of PVC particles located within a liquid plasticiser. The substance flows as a liquid and can be poured into a mould that has been heated. After reaching 177 degrees Celsius, the plasticiser and plastic dissolve each other mutually. Once the mould has been cooled to below 60 degrees Celsius, a permanently plasticised, flexible product is the result.

Plastisol Leathergrain steels were first created for wall and roof cladding purposes. These days however, they are also utilised in a considerable range of engineering applications, such as heating and certain ventilation units. Leathergrains provide outstanding protection and durability, even in the most demanding of coastal and industrial environments. Plastisol is so effective in our industry that guarantees of up to 30 years can be made on many products.

A number of advantages to using plastisol exist too, which is why the material is so highly favoured. To begin with, it has brilliant erosion resistance properties, making it a valuable option for those who have concerns relating to the integrity of tile sheeting. Additionally, the guarantees ensure that you won’t have to keep replacing the sheets every two or three years, saving you money as a result.

At Peter Wragge Supplies Ltd our plastisol coated tile form sheeting is just one of the many materials that we have in stock.
